This week was pretty quiet as we stayed at home and did various chores around the house. Jennifer is finishing up the drapes for our room. We went out and got Izzy’s bike fixed. A cold snap finally hit Florida and I replaced the downstairs thermostat with a programmable one. This allows me to lower [...]

Anniversary Dinner
October 6th, 2007 · No Comments
It’s always easy to remember my wedding anniversary. It’s near Texas-OU weekend. For a while the day of my wedding was the last time Texas had defeated OU. Well, 6 out of 8 times OU has been the victor in this match-up and they won again today beating Texas 28-21. It wasn’t as much of [...]

Another UCF Game
September 22nd, 2007 · No Comments
I headed up once again to UCF today for a game against Memphis. We were having a team event for up at work in the form of a tailgate and then had tickets for the game. The tailgate was fun, company paid for the food and our executive producer paid for the beer. We cooked up [...]

A Close Call
September 15th, 2007 · No Comments
Today I spent all day up at the University of Central Florida (UCF) as the Texas Longhorns came into town. We ordered BBQ over the Internet from The Salt Lick in Austin, Texas and I spent the morning cooking it up for our tailgate. Others were in charge of chips and Shiner Bock. We rolled [...]

First Day
July 16th, 2007 · No Comments
Today was the first day of Vacation Bible School for Jennifer and the girls. Even Isabelle got to go now that she’s two. Almost 400 people are attending and Jennifer said it was a sea of kids in the Family Life Center gymnasium up at church. Fortunately, Jennifer only sees a hand full of kids [...]

Longhorns win Alamo Bowl
December 30th, 2006 · No Comments
The Longhorns pulled off a victory in their last game of the season. They were pitted against unranked 6-6 Iowa in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. The pictures of the River Walk got me hungry for Mexican food and fresh tortillas, but oh well. It should have been a blow out by Texas, but [...]

Texans are now 3-0…
November 12th, 2006 · No Comments
…against Florida teams. They are 0-6 against non-Florida teams, but that’s besides the point. Unfortunately, they didn’t give tickets out to any of the games at work this week. I was hoping to win tickets to the Texans-Jaguars game since it was only about an hour and a half drive away up in Jacksonville. Texans were [...]

My Poor Xbox
November 4th, 2006 · No Comments
Today my Xbox died. The past couple of days it’s been locking up randomly and today it finally gave up and just flashed some red lights on the front when I tried to turn it on. I called customer support and they had me send it back in to get repaired. I heard a rumor [...]

Longhorns Win a Close One
October 21st, 2006 · No Comments
The Longhorns pulled out a nail biting win against the Nebraska Cornhuskers today, 22-20. It wasn’t looking good, down 20-19, when the Longhorns caused a fumble with less than two minutes to go. They drove down the field and kicked the game winning field goal with 20 seconds left in the game. The Longhorns dominated [...]

Parent’s Night Out
October 14th, 2006 · No Comments
On Monday Jennifer and I had our seventh wedding anniversary. We didn’t do much on Monday because Jennifer had her photography class. Also, for the first time ever, EA Tiburon had a “parent’s night out” on Friday. All the kids of employees came up to work and they had hired a company to watch all [...]

Texas Beats OU
October 7th, 2006 · No Comments
Texas stepped up once again this year to take out OU 28-10. I was pretty worried at half time. Texas wasn’t looking very good in the first half and OU was winning 10-7. Mack Brown must have said something good at half time because Texas came back out like a new team.
Is it me or [...]

September Month in Review
October 1st, 2006 · No Comments
It’s been a while since I’ve written, so I thought I would do a “month in review”. For the most part September was pretty much another ordinary month in the French household.
After the Knight of the Week event, the Longhorns ended up loosing to Ohio State. The defense just looked terrible. I thought Colt McCoy [...]

Hook’em Horns
September 3rd, 2006 · No Comments
Well, from earlier in the week, Tropical Storm Ernesto was a bust. It barley rained when the storm moved over us. We got more rain and wind on Friday will after the storm was long gone. The most frustrating part was the local news blowing it out of proportion and because of that Abby and [...]

Tournament of Roses Tour, Day 7
January 5th, 2006 · No Comments
Wow, what a game. Well worth the price we paid for the trip. To be there in person for the Longhorns’ coming back from a 12 point deficit and winning the National Championship is priceless. Frenchville will be burnt orange for some time. I was feeling a little bleak when Reggie Bush scored that touchdown [...]

Weathering the Black Friday Storm
November 26th, 2005 · No Comments
Yesterday we realized we were almost out of diapers for Isabelle and knew we were in trouble. First, the stores were closed yesterday because of Thanksgiving. Second, tomorrow was the media named “Black Friday” where the hordes of shoppers flood the stores.
So, we roughed the storm and headed to the store. First we had to [...]

Fall Festival
October 29th, 2005 · Comments Off
Today was the annual Fall Festival at our church. You purchase tickets and then you use the tickets to do different sorts of rides and activities. This is the third time we’ve gone since moving to Orlando and Abby and Emily love going. They did the bounce house, rode a train, and Abby bought a [...]

I’m Back
October 22nd, 2005 · No Comments
I can’t believe it’s been exactly a month since my last entry in Frenchville. It’s been a wild ride at work. A whole lot of extra hours for many days in a row. It’s been: go to work, come home for dinner (sometimes), go back to work, come home and go to sleep. It’s finally [...]

Texas Wins! Texas Wins! Texas Wins!
September 10th, 2005 · No Comments
All of a sudden everyone at work was telling me that they were going to root for Ohio State just because they wanted to see my head shaved. That just made me more determined and I’ve never watched a Texas game more closely. It’s a whole different game when you have your hair on the [...]

Isabelle’s Christening
September 10th, 2005 · No Comments
I can’t believe it’s been over two weeks since I’ve made an entry in Frenchville. Last weekend was pretty busy. Jennifer’s parents, sister and her husband, Mike, and grandparents all visited. They were here for Isabelle’s Christening at church. Everyone is doing good and they had a good time visiting. Isabelle’s Christening went off without [...]

Longhorns Win Rose Bowl!
January 1st, 2005 · No Comments
Happy New Year! We spent the switch to the new year here in the Central Time Zone asleep. I guess roasting all the marshmallows made us a little groggy.
We went ahead and celebrated Emily’s second birthday while we were here in Houston. Abby and Grandma made a cake with sprinkles on top, of course, and [...]

EV1.Net Houston Bowl
December 29th, 2004 · Comments Off
It’s been much warmer this week in Houston than it was when we were in Shreveport last week. That has allowed us to do much more outside, if you haven’t noticed. There’s also much more to do as a family here in Houston than in Shreveport. So, today we headed to the Houston Zoo. This [...]

Searching for Mongolia
December 5th, 2004 · No Comments
After church we went in search for a Mongolian Bar-B-Q restaurant that the Yahoo Yellow Pages said was in Maitland, a suburb on the north side of Orlando near where we go to church. The pregnancy has made Jennifer very hungry lately and we missed the Mongolian Bar-B-Q restaurant that was in Houston that we [...]

Longhorns Dominate Aggies Once Again
November 26th, 2004 · Comments Off
This morning we went to breakfast instead of doing in on Saturday because we needed to get an early start so we could get the Sequoia to the Toyota dealership at 9:00. We figured if we planned to going to breakfast, we would be ready to get the truck in as early as possible so [...]
Week In Review
November 14th, 2004 · 2 Comments
Sorry it’s been all week since I’ve made a new entry. I will have to make it up with this one. First off I would like to make the official announcement on Frenchville that we are now expecting a third child in June. Most of our families know already so this isn’t a surprise to [...]

Texas Win
November 6th, 2004 · No Comments
It wasn’t looking like I was going to be turning Frenchville orange at half time of today’s UT game. OSU was dominating us 35-14. Mack Brown must have said something inspiring at the half time, because the defense really stepped up shutting out OSU in the second half as Texas ended up rolling OSU 56-35.

Busy Saturday
October 31st, 2004 · No Comments
Today was a busy day. First, we went to a Fall Festival at church. It’s a fund raiser for their pre-school, which is the school that Abby went to last year. There were hay rides, jump houses, games, and face painters. Everyone was amazed that Emily would go up and down this giant blow-up slide [...]

Looking for a New Camera
October 23rd, 2004 · No Comments
Today was a normal Saturday where we try and clean the house and do laundry. I went up to the RDV Sportsplex and joined as part of Tiburon’s corporate membership.
We all went to Best Buy to look for a new digital camera. Our current camera hasn’t been fairing too well. The screen on the back [...]
Longhorns & Astros Win
October 16th, 2004 · No Comments
Today we didn’t do much that was out of the ordinary. We went to our usual Saturday morning breakfast. Abby went to one of the neighbor’s 2nd birthday party. Emily wasn’t feeling too good so she and I stayed at home and watched the Longhorns and Astros.
The Longhorns were victorious today over Missouri 28-20. Overall [...]

Fifth Anniversary
October 9th, 2004 · No Comments
I finally got to drive the new Sequoia today. We went to our usual Saturday breakfast and then we went shopping for Abby a new car seat. Her current one really dug into the Camry’s back seat and we want to get a new one that doesn’t mess up the new truck.
The Longhorns once again [...]

Making Room for the Sequoia
October 2nd, 2004 · No Comments
The Texas Longhorns defeated the Baylor Bears 44-14 today. They are looking pretty good, but it’s hard to say against such weak opponents. We are only one week away from the true test: #2 Oklahoma.
We spent the afternoon cleaning out the garage to make a little more room for the new Sequoia. The last owners [...]

Preparing for Jeanne
September 25th, 2004 · No Comments
The day started off with our weekly visit to Peach Valley Cafe for breakfast and then I was off to softball practice. Since both Tiburon softball teams lost last week, everyone thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and have another practice this morning. I was able to get some more batting [...]
